What is browser fingerprinting & the disguise score
Even after changing your IP, websites can still identify your browser through combinations of dozens of traits — WebGL renderer, Canvas rendering differences, font lists, audio context, and more. That is browser fingerprinting. The disguise score measures whether the environment you present is self-consistent: when timezone, language, WebRTC, DNS and exit IP contradict each other, risk engines can infer your real location. IPchase rolls these checks into a single 0–100 score so you can fix leaks one by one.
How to improve your disguise score
1) Keep timezone and language aligned with your exit IP location; 2) disable or spoof WebRTC to avoid leaking local addresses; 3) make sure DNS resolution goes through the same exit as your proxy; 4) prefer residential or mobile IPs over datacenter ranges; 5) use a fingerprint-spoofing browser and re-check the nine-item fingerprint digest regularly.
How is the disguise score calculated?
The score weighs 6 consistency dimensions: timezone vs IP location, browser language vs IP location, WebRTC exposure, DNS exit consistency, exit IP type (residential vs datacenter), and UA platform cross-checks. Max 100; 85+ is excellent, below 55 is high risk.
Why does WebRTC show "leaked"?
When establishing peer-to-peer connections, WebRTC can reveal your local network or real public IP even behind a proxy. Disable WebRTC in your browser or use a protection-focused browser.
Does the fingerprint test upload my data?
No. All nine fingerprint categories — HSTS, WebGL, Canvas, Plugins, Client Rects, Fonts, Audio, WebGPU and media devices — are computed locally in your browser. Only summary hashes are displayed; the server never receives or stores any fingerprint data.
What does a DNS leak mean?
If DNS resolution still goes through your direct connection while browsing via a proxy, resolver logs expose your real network location. This site compares the DNS exit against the HTTP exit using random-subdomain authoritative resolution.
Why are datacenter IPs easily detected?
Datacenter ranges have public ASN ownership, and risk engines flag them via IP type databases. Residential and mobile IPs look far more like real users and get blocked much less often.
Is IPchase free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no sign-up. The site is supported by ads, which never affect test results.
